Like, Stop It

The use of ‘like’ has been declared an epidemic and a threat to the future of the language. Federal, state, and local governments have begun to debate alternatives to combat language degradation, beyond the removal of twitter posts by the outgoing gang of language degraders.

The initiatives are already drawing criticism and push back, primarily from right-wing groups who see the effort to restrict their incorrect, gratuitous use of a specific word as constitutionally unacceptable.

“It’s like making us put, like, a mask on our brains, like,” a view simultaneously expressed by QAnon, the entire senate Republican caucus, and all of TrumPutin’s children.

Abner Abner, a GOP state legislator from any red state, immediately tweeted, “This is socialism at its worst, like, yeah, it’s socialism that’s, like, un-American, and not, like, socialism, that, like, gives billions to corporate agriculturalists.”

A senator from Texas, either idiot,  immediately announced he would hold senate hearings. “The Democrats are fixated on impeachment by, like, not re-electing our king, and they want, like, socialistic socialism, but they, like, totally ignore the legitimiciality of, like, like.” He stopped pounding the table only for a second before adding, “It is, like, so bad to stop, like, using a word like, like, like. That is socialism, to stop using words just because they, like, don’t mean anything. Like ‘conservative,’ or, like, ‘intelligent Republican,’ or, like, so, yeah.”

And then Abner Abner and the senator from South Carolina went golfing with the lame duck who won’t, like, shut up and, like, go away. So, yeah …

Tragic

The Kentucky Attorney General, a model of decorum and thoughtfulness, has come up with this gem:

The Louisville officer who shot indiscriminately inside a Louisville apartment building, but who did not hit anyone, is indicted for "willful endangerment."

The Louisville officers who shot and killed an unarmed woman, are not indicted, and ... the killing was justified.

It makes perfect sense: the guy who shot but didn't hit anyone is charged; the guys who shot and killed are exonerated.
According to the AG, the murder was justified even though neither the woman who was killed nor her boyfriend was the subject of the warrant the officers used as the reason to enter the home in the first place. The murder was tragic, though, according to the AG.

It was justified because the officers returned gun fire from the boyfriend, who thought the officers were intruders. The President, NRA loyalists, and Republican senators at the federal and state level all celebrate the right of citizens to have guns to protect themselves. Not, apparently, black citizens, though. They are not protected by the 2nd Amendment, in addition to not being protected by many other provisions of the Constitution that apply to all other citizens. That, too, is tragic.

The decision of the Kentucky AG has nothing to do with race, he declaims, and the fact that another Black person is dead is tragic.

The most glaring tragedy of all is the reasoning and the political contortions of the Kentucky AG.

Shut Up, Mitch

So Moscow Mitch is crying now that Obama left TrumPutin nothing to help with pandemics. Oh, really?!

A 69-page plan for dealing with pandemics isn't enough? Or was Obama supposed to read it to the Big Orange, when the Big Orange wasn't butt-deep in Fox News? And an agency fully funded and working to deal with pandemics, which TrumPutin dismantled, de-funded, and forgot about.

And Mitch's apology that he made a mistake. Why ?Not because he knew it was a lie when he said it, and said it anyway to curry favor with the imbecile he shills for? But only because he was called on it.

Moscow Mitch never does anything scrupulous, or honest, and only apologizes after the initial accusation has been thoroughly digested by the cretins that make up the base.

Obama left a Supreme Court nomination with Mitch, for eleven months, and Comrade Mitch didn't deign to bring the nomination to a vote, and didn't find his stalling, or the support of his fellow GOP senators to stall, offensive. But he finds the work of Speaker Pelosi too partisan for his fragile psyche, and the Obamagate drivel from his leader not partisan enough.

So, Mitch, shut up and go make America whatever -- you have until January.

Intelligence?

Now that the effort by Barr to grope around for innocence has revealed that no one believes in his or Flynn's or TrumPutin's innocence, we are left with another question: why was this idiot of a general going to be in charge of intelligence, in the first place?

A guy who confessed, twice, in open court. He apologized for his behavior. He was defended by one of the premier law firms in the country.

Pence knew Flynn had lied to him. TrumPutin fired Flynn for lying to Pence. Flynn could have at any point said that he had not lied, he could claimed his innocence, pretended he was TrumPutin and the Russian ambassador was Stormy Daniels and denied he ever saw they guy.

So, why was this guy -- outmaneuvered by the Russians, confused by whether or not he lied or, at the very least, whether he should have admitted it, twice, in court -- ever considered for National Security Advisor? He's unfit for any job requiring, or having anything to do with, intelligence.

Why did TrumPutin think Flynn would be good as National Security Advisor? Was it because he chanted "lock her up" on cue? Was it because TrumPutin always chooses idiots to be around him.

Flynn is guilty. He knows it, Barr knows it, and TrumPutin knows it. Fortunately. so does the judge.

Make America whatever.

Speaking of …

Speaking of the corruption, stupidity, and utter rubbish that is the Trumputin regime, the three current stalwarts of corruption and stupidity, TrumPutin, Barr, and Pompeo, have spoken the choicest examples, this week, of all that is the worst of themselves and their world view.

In pushing for an"opened" country, aka an economy that he can claim as his own, and exclude the deaths due to his delay and corruption, TrumPutin says that the country must be opened. "Will some be effected? Yes. Will some be effected badly? Yes."

There was no detail how some would be effected badly. Because the comforter-in-chief is such an idiot, we aren't sure whether he means some will die, or that some will have to settle for a crappy tee time at their golf club. We won't know what TrumPutin means by "badly effected," until his staff tells us what he meant.

Barr, the poster child for a political system of justice, declaims that in putting aside Flynn's guilty plea (twice in open court), "I want to make sure that we restore confidence in the system."

He didn't say which system, but confidence has been restored, since his appointment, in the system where friends of TrumPutin get preferential treatment, whether the offense is treason, other corruption, jury tampering, or garden-variety contract preference for building idiotic walls. That system is well entrenched and we need no further assistance from Barr to prove it.

And speaking of well-upholstered ignoramuses flouting a pseudo-patriotism and convenient religiosity, Mike Pompeo tells us that his assessment of Chinese deception in the midst of the Coronavirus typifies "the kinds of disinformation, the kinds of concealment, that authoritarian regimes do." Of course, he implicitly exonerates TrumPutin's authoritarian regime, which misinforms and conceals daily. Hidden tax returns, concealed information that the Big Orange had of the virus many months ago, misinformed summaries of the Mueller report, hidden parts of that report that Barr says no one can see, undisclosed bases for regulation rollbacks that favor corporate America and kill middle America, etc. etc. etc. Authoritarian regimes, indeed, Mr. Secretary.

Make America whatever. You really don't care, so you?

I Love Fauci

TrumPutin is an idiot and a fool, which his defenders claim is leadership.

Still, it is stupid for him to retweet a message that Fauci should be fired, and then claim that he doesn't mean that Fauci should be fired.

Maybe he should try not acting like a high school sophomore and just put his damn phone away. That might be a leap of maturity that the Big Orange can't make.

But he wants to open up the country, and his reasons are sound: Epidimiology starts with an "e"; Economy starts with an "e"; therefore, Epidemiologists want the Economy to open up. What could be plainer.

So there it is -- sound reasons for another TrumPutin policy. And not only that, but Jared likes the idea. The economy, after all, is not the states' economy. It is our economy, and that means not the states.

And Mnuchin says it is such a good idea that TrumPutin's name should be on the checks.

It is sad when a phrase like "shit head" can completely encompass TrumPutin and his regime, and yet leave out so much.

Make America whatever

Total Authority is the New Orange

I am the president and I have total authority.

How do I know I have total authority? Well, I don't say that I have total authority, but people have said that, so I guess that means it's true.

Besides, if I didn't have total authority, how could I fire anyone I want to, for whatever reason, but mainly because they are not loyal to me. Or yell at people who don't adore me, and reporters - if they aren't with Fox State News -and especially if they are women who are nasty and ask me nasty questions, like how do I know I have total authority.

Anyway, now that everyone knows I have total authority, I won't be taking any more questions about my total authority, because I don't have to, based on my total authority, which many people, including my uncle who used to teach at M.I.T. for many years, have told me I have.

And by the way, I authorize states to do what they planned to do, which only I could authorize, but which I did because no one listens to me anymore.

Except Barr and Mnuchin and the others I can scare and bully, which includes all the rest of my Cabinet and Republican senators.

Because they know I have total authority over their loyalty and courage. Right, Moscow Mitch?

Total authority is the new orange.

Bottomless, and That’s a New High

TrumPutin started out small and low, and has gotten smaller and lower ever since.

Is it any wonder he announced his entry into the presidential campaign on an escalator going down? If it weren't that he tries to take the country with him, we could wish him bon voyage.

Birthers, American carnage, fictional inauguration crowds, travel bans, Mexican rapists and drug dealers, good white Nationalists, daily lies, ongoing corruption, stable genius, unstable regime, brilliant uncles, I really don't care, Chinese patents to daughters he wants to date, judges with the morals of goats or--even worse-- with the morals of the president, hidden taxes, loyalty and admiration oaths, AGs to protect him, Treasury officials to enrich him, rocket man to statesman, praise for the Chinese to hatred for the Chinese, lies about the virus danger segueing to fears of a cure worse than the virus, segueing to lies about successes in dealing with the virus.

And now, to save face, he cuts off funding to the WHO, claiming his failures were theirs; he "authorizes" states to undertake powers already granted under the Constitution; and he bullies Mnuchin into affixing the TrumPutin name on stimulus checks, underscoring his desperation, narcissism, and ignorance.

Sadly, his bevy of toadying, slobbering, mindless, soulless admirers gives him the impression that he has ability.

Ignorance, arrogance, corruption, preening and delusion that knows no bottom, and shame that never makes an appearance. How can a skull so thick be connected to skin so thin?

Yes, indeed, Make America Whatever

Shut Up, Mitch

Moscow Mitch is the evil behind the empire, concocting the vilest explanations and then trying his gosh-darn hardest to hide his racism and manipulation behind a righteousness so earnest it might almost be evangelical.

Now, Moscow Mitch is trying to float the idea that TrumPutin's fixation on impeachment diverted his impressive attention span from the Coronavirus, and the Democrats are the reason TrumPutin stayed so stupid so long regarding the pandemic, which he knew was a pandemic while he was telling everyone that it was like a mild flu.

He knew it was a pandemic but because impeachment was on his mind, he kept trying to imagine a perfect call and couldn't quite manage to say pandemic because it sounded so much like impeachment.

Damn, Mitch, it makes so much nonsense.

He was so absorbed in impeachment, even though there was no chance in hell the Senate would even have witnesses, let alone convict the moron.

And TrumPutin was so immersed in impeachment that he told everyone to go get ready to go to church and then celebrate Jesus by buying all kinds of crap to get the economy going again. Impeachment made him confuse safety and saving lives with corporate greed. No problems, Moscow Mitch, it's a mistake Republicans make every day.

So shut it, MoscowMitch!

Out of the Mouth of a Toddler

TrumPutin says, "I don't want to give a bailout to a company and then have somebody ... use that money to buy back stock ... and then get a bonus. So I'm a Republican, but I don't like that."

Yes, it is Republican dogma to give money to corporations under the guise of public benefit, and then watch as the oligarchs use the public largesse to enrich themselves and their cronies. Republicans have believed in that selective socialism for 100 years or more, and it is refreshing to hear the leader of the current regime acknowledge it.

In his defense, he probably is not aware that that is what he has done. And he will probably draw the line at disallowing the Mar-muy-Largo estate and the TrumPutin Properties from using the public money to prolong themselves. After all, power comes with the right to abuse it -- if he has taught the electorate anything, it is that basic principle of deal-making.

And since the Large Orange One is not at ease with truthful statements, it is unlikely that he does not like "that." It is rather the opposite. He intends to practice the art of taking government funds and enriching himself, and then disavow any notion that it is bad form.

The original words were, after all, spoken by an unrepentant liar (I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic), a toddler who screams his lies and demands that the sycophants who surround him attest to his truthiness.
